Smoothstone Solution Now Rated 'Avaya Compliant'
Louisville, Ky (October 26, 2009) — Leading IP Communications provider, Smoothstone IP Communications, today announced that its SIP Trunking Service is compliant with key Internet protocol (IP) telephony solutions from Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.
Smoothstone´s SIP Trunking service helps businesses maximize IP–PBX functionality by accessing the rich feature set of Smoothstone´s VoIP services, delivering reliable, secure and cost–effective connections that provide greater redundancy and higher aggregation of voice traffic (compared to T1/PRI), without costly equipment upgrades. The application now is compliance–tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Aura™ Communication Manager and Avaya Aura™ SIP Enablement Services.
“By aligning ourselves with technology partners like Avaya, Smoothstone can provide a greater variety of innovative IP communications solutions to our valued clients,” said Jeff Wellemeyer, President and CTO of Smoothstone. “We believe Avaya not only maintains the highest level of business compliance, but provides a flexible, standards–based platform that allows us to continue to deliver our services in a reliable and cost–effective manner. We´re pleased this partnership will benefit current and future clients with their IP communications needs.”
Smoothstone is a member of the Avaya DevConnect program–an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third–party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company´s investment in its network.
As a Gold member of the program, Smoothstone is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab. There a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best–in–class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure–speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.
“Companies like Smoothstone are expanding the choices available to Avaya customers,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, Developer Relations and Technical Alliances, Avaya. “With a broad selection of standards–based solutions that are compliance–tested for interoperability, businesses can use communications strategically in their operations and make critical information readily available to both clients and employees.”
